What to Expect
I believe that support should meet you where you are—especially in the tender days of early parenthood. Here’s how I’ll care for you and your baby every step of the way.
Initial Home Visits for Newborns
Families with babies three weeks old or younger are offered an initial postpartum home visit with no travel fee to honor the vtender, healing days of early postpartum life. (Available within a 30-minute travel radius of the office.)
For babies older than three weeks, home visits are still available with a $25 travel fee (within a 30-minute radius).
I’ll arrive to your home with a medical-grade scale, feeding tools (like nipple shields, bottles, or pumping accessories), and everything needed to provide full feeding support. There’s no need to tidy up—I’ve been a postpartum mama three times over. Choose any room where you feel comfortable.
Please note: If you have pets, kindly place them in another room. And to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone, I ask that you avoid using air fresheners or plug-ins before our appointment—thank you for understanding!
Office Visits
In-office consults follow the same structure as home visits, with most feeding tools and pillows provided. If your baby is bottle-feeding, please bring the milk you’re using. I’ll help you get settled and comfortable, then we’ll walk through your intake together before beginning our assessment.
Before Your Consult
Required forms must be completed before your appointment. For legal and safety reasons, I cannot begin until these are signed.
Self-pay clients: Payment is due at the time of booking. Any applicable travel fees will be included.
Using insurance? Complete your benefits verification at least 48 hours before your consult to confirm coverage. If insurance isn't confirmed 24 hours prior, the full consult fee will be automatically charged. (Refunds are issued if approval is received afterward.)
Feeding prep: Try to time your baby's hunger so they’re ready to feed about 15 minutes into our visit. A small “appetizer” feed beforehand is perfectly fine if needed.
Jot down any questions you'd like to cover—I’m here to answer them all!
During Your Consult
Whether we’re in your home or in the office, here’s what our time together will look like:
Hand sanitizing and settling in
Baby will be undressed to a dry diaper for accurate weighing
Weight check on a medical-grade scale (breastfed babies weighed in grams and pounds; bottle-fed babies in pounds only)
We’ll review your intake form, discuss your goals, and create a safe space to address any concerns
If breastfeeding, I’ll observe a full feeding session with pre/post weights
If bottle-feeding, we’ll assess bottle-feeding technique
I’ll assess for tongue, lip, and buccal ties, along with any oral motor challenges
You’ll receive personalized guidance and evidence-based recommendations
After Your Consult
A PDF summary of your consult with evaluations, recommendations, and images (if taken) will be delivered to your secure client portal within 24–48 hours
Referrals to other providers (if needed) will also be sent within this timeframe
Messaging support between consults is always available through your client portal
I’ll update your care team—including pediatricians, midwives, or other providers—as needed, so everyone is aligned in supporting you
Follow-Up Consults
Follow-ups are an essential way to stay supported through every stage of your feeding journey. These visits are ideal for:
Ongoing breastfeeding or bottle-feeding concerns
Pumping and flange fitting
Plugged ducts or mastitis
Weighted feeds
Returning to work
Re-lactation
Introducing the Bebe Munchee device
Starting solids
Follow-ups mirror the structure of the initial consult and last about one hour. They’re primarily offered in-office, but in-home follow-ups are available for a $25 travel fee (within a 30-minute radius).
